With Jack Dodson (Coody). Series debut. Gregory Sierra heads up a hospital which provides "adult emergency service", and must deal with the comic frenzy that often occurs in a hospital emergency ward.

March 30, 1978: In The Black

With Mills Watson (Skinner), Emory Bass (Oosterhazen), Sam Ingraffia (Dr. Spinelli), Nancy Lee Noble (Patsy Jo), J.J. Barry (Gissler). A power failure plunges the Hudson Street Adult Emergency Service into darkness.

April 6, 1978: Shutdown
Season 1, episode 3

With Queenie Smith (Mrs. Hollis), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Nurse), Michael Alldredge (Fire Captain), Jay Robinson (Pratt), Eddie Singleton (James). While working to save the life of a hit-and-run victim, the A.E.S. staff discovers that the funds have been depleted and the Adult Emergency Service must close.

April 13, 1978: Diagnosis: Dead, Prognosis: Good

With Julienne Wells (Rhoda). A deceased patient springs back to life, and Dr. Menzies faces the task of breaking the news to his not-so-grieving "widow".

Conditions at the Hudson Street Hospital are enough to make even a strong man break down, but Dr. Paul Friedman really loses his grip and embarks on an inept attempt to take hs own life. (Last show of the series.)
