Jack Webb introduces his new adventure series and narrates an incident which occurred early in World War II and changed the course of submarine warfare: the submarine USS Scalaro was pinned to the ocean floor by a Japanese destroyer. With oxygen supplies diminishing, the sub commander figures out a way to save the crew.
