February 5, 1977: The Really Longest Day

Series debut. Abe Vigoda stars as Fish, the dour detective of the popular "Barney Miller" series, as he and his wife Bernice undertake a new way of life as the adoptive parents of five disadvantaged youngsters. In the initial episode, Fish gets some counsel for his new role from a college student working for his Ph.D. in psychology.

With Sidney Clute (Sheldon). Mike "borrows" Detective Fish's car and ends up in jail when Fish insists he be treated like any other lawbreaker.
