With Lawrason Driscoll (Derek). Only hours before her scheduled marriage to a war hero following a whirlwind courtship, Edith and her boarding house friends become trapped in the basement by rising waters from a broken pipe.

With Richard Stahl (General Culpepper), Morgan Hart (Connie). Loretta gets in trouble with her boss due to incompetence -- she mixes up requisition forms and sends a shipment of lingerie to an Army post while at the same time military equipment starts arriving at the girls' apartment.

With Michael McKean (Joey), Douglas Werner (David). Betty and Edith volunteer as nurses to help wounded soldiers at a hospital.
Season 1, episode 10 The girls get news that Loretta's husband is missing while they plan a USO show; when the Andrews Sisters aren't available, the girls put on a wild show of their own for the boys in uniform.
Season 1, episode 11 Camille's behavior has her friends thinking that she is a spy.
