With Rod Cobin (Coach Bradley), Fritzi Burr (Mrs. Bradley), Howard Hesseman (Professor Stoneham), Dennis Kort (Roger), Michael Talbot (Pete), John Kirby (Herb), Julie Payne (Terestia). Grady decides to move out of Watts and into his daughter's home in Westwood. As a gift, Grady purchases what he considers to be a stylish oil painting.

With Redd Foxx (Fred Sanford), George Wiltshire (Elroy Pitt), George Dzundza (George Kosinski), Alix Elias (Rose Kosinski), Jack Fletcher (Mr. Pratt), Eric Christmas (Beardsley). Grady Wilson, the character Whitman Mayo introduced on Sanford and Son, appears in a new series. In the first episode, Grady's daughter and her family move from Chicago to Santa Monica. Fred Sanford helps Grady move in with them.
Season 1, episode 2 Grady invites Bubba and Rollo over for a poker game and after they leave, there's a lot missing.
Season 1, episode 3 When Grady's birthday approaches -- the day before Christmas -- son-in-law Hal is assigned the task of keeping Grady out of the house while the surprise party is being planned.

With George Dzundza (George Kosinski), Jack Fletcher (Mr. Pratt), Allan Lurie (Driving Inspector). Ellie thinks that her father, at the age of 67, is too old to drive, but Grady takes lessons anyway and does well -- when he stays on the road.
Season 1, episode 5
With Alix Elias (Rose Kosinski). Grady falls under the spell of a desperate fellow student in his black history class, and switches exams with her so she can pass the course.
Season 1, episode 6 Grady and his grandson put coins in expired parking meters and accompany each deed with a note asking for a reward.
Season 1, episode 7
With Robbie Rist (Martin). When a teachers' strike occurs, Grady sees his big chance. He opens a school for the neighborhood kids.
Season 1, episode 8 Grady decides to get back at the Social Security people for money owed him.
Season 1, episode 9
With Norma Miller (Go-Go Dancer). Ellie dreams that Grady comes home with a wife who is a circus performer. (Last show of the series.)
