Vince Edwards returns to weekly TV to star in a series about a new breed psychiatrist who is also director of a "hot line" facility for troubled teenagers. In this episode, an unwed mother resists Dr. Lincoln's suggestion that she return to therapy when she asks help in placing her baby for adoption.

A supposedly ideal girl addicted to heroin is given a chance to join Dr. Lincoln's encounter sessions for addicts. The girl pretends the sessions are helpful but continues to use drugs.

Lincoln saves a child from drowning and falls in love with his widowed mother. Matt proposes and is accepted, but afterwards she receives a medical report that turns their wedding ceremony into a bittersweet occasion.

A disturbed mother confesses to psychiatrist Lincoln that her baby daughter is hospitalized because she beat her. As part of her therapy she is asked to work at a halfway house child care center.

January 14, 1971: Christopher
Season 1, episode 16

Lincoln tries to help a concert pianist-composer cope with his loss of hearing. The musician breaks his engagement to a girl before he learns he's facing total deafness. (Last show of the series.)
