February 13, 1976: Half Breed
Season 1, episode 1

Debut of a series about a 19th-century frontier teacher who refuses to conform to the schoolmarm image. In the first episode, the people of the town vent their pent-up rage against the Indians on a 10-year-old half-breed who wants to attend Sara's school.

February 20, 1976: Bright Boy
Season 1, episode 2

With Jerry Hardin (Frank Dixon), Michael LeClair (Art), Robert Mandan (Clarkson), Lance Kerwin (Derek), Stephen Manley (Jimmy Higgins).
A bright and well-educated student from the East must choose between loyalty to his unreasonable father or fitting in among Sara's other students. Sara hopes the boy will kindle in them a new spark of learning.

A serious epidemic strikes Independence and the daughter of a former doctor is the only one who can diagnose and treat the ill.

March 5, 1976: Sod House Woman
Season 1, episode 4

When she tries to attract two farm boys to her school, Sara finds herself more worried about their mother.

A youth living with his harsh uncle steals a horse to run away, and Sara is alone in her campaign to save him from the gallows.

March 22, 1976: Man From Leadville

When an expert dynamiter comes to town to blast open a new vein of a silver mine, he threatens to sweep Sara off her feet as well.

When a visitor comes to town and tries to romance Sara, she's startled to learn she's "off limits".

April 2, 1976: Lady

A woman declared mad on the word of her husband returns after three years in an asylum to be reunited with her daughter.
