After a bomb in a car kills his wife, Sarge re-evaluates his life and decides to return to the priesthood he once prepared to enter.

A young priest who was a friend of Sarge is murdered, and Sarge insists on aiding Chief Ironside with his investigation.

With David Sheiner (Lloyd), Arlene Golonka (Marygrace), Monte Markham (Tom Flynn). Insisting that, as a Catholic, a divorce granted his wife while he was in prison is not valid, ex-convict Tom Flynn returns to renew life with his former wife, who has since remarried.

January 4, 1972: An Accident Waiting To Happen
Season 1, episode 13

With Robert Sampson (Father Burke), Susan Oliver (Fran Bavarian), Billy Green Bush (Cy Bronson). Questioning the circumstances under which a man was killed when struck by a car driven by Father Burke, Sarge sets out to prove his fellow priest innocent of manslaughter.

January 11, 1972: Napoleon Never Wanted To Be A Cop

Bitter over his failure to meet the police department's physical requirements, the son of a former policeman assaults an officer and, when the officer is later found dead, is accused of murder. (Last show of the series.)
