A fire company captain finds his organized life thrown into chaos when the signing talents of his teenage daughter catapult her into a career in show business. In the opening episode, Jennie's choice of a song for her TV debut has her dad sizzling.

With Danny Mora (Max Hernandez), Amanda Wyss (Tiffany), Severn Darden. A newspaper critic pans Jennie's nightclub performance.

October 21, 1982: Save My Life, Please
Season 1, episode 3

With Ian Wolfe (Wodehouse), Barbara Anderson. Buddy turns out to be the only guest at a party held by a woman he rescued from a fire.

October 28, 1982: Marking Time
Season 1, episode 4

With Danny Mora (Max Hernandez), Amanda Wyss (Tiffany). Buddy is perturbed by his kids' antics at report-card time -- Jennie schemes to attend a concert and Douggie's good grades seem to reflect his performance on the football field rather than in the classroom.

With Regis Philbin (TV Host). Rosetti goes on TV to describe his mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of an asphyxiated hamster.

With Danny Mora (Max Hernandez), Joanna Kerns (Joanne). Buddy picks up a woman at a singles bar, Douggie falls for his hygiene teacher -- and they turn out to be the same person.

November 18, 1982: I Got It Good And That Ain't Good
Season 1, episode 7

With Virginia Capers (Alberta). Jenny runs away in search of deprivation and suffering, which she believes are requisites for a creative artist.

November 25, 1982: The Boy Next Door
Season 1, episode 8

With Vanna White. Buddy beams with pride as Douggie readies for a date with a bombshell, but recoils in shock at Jennie's romance with the boy next door.

December 2, 1982: Phil
Season 1, episode 9

With Judy Pioli (Judy 'Moose' Wells). Buddy has trouble accepting the fact that there are some things Jennie would rather discuss with a woman.

A wild protest rally erupts when the high school kids fight for their rights against the PTA, which has threatened to close a nearby video arcade. (Last show of the series.)
