January 14, 1972:
Season 1, episode 1

With Frank Aletter (Dr. Hoyt), Parley Baer (Vanderpoole), George Tyne, Mary Wickes. Debut of a situation comedy series about an advertising executive and family man who is plagued by the annoyances and aggravations of the average man. In the first show, nervous tension causes a sudden illness, and Don's wife recalls a similar situation 10 years earlier.

January 21, 1972: Greetings From Uncle Sam
Season 1, episode 2

With Henry Jones. Don gets drafted, and even though it's only a mixup at the draft board, he has to go through the complete induction process.

January 28, 1972: The Mercy Of The Court
Season 1, episode 3
Don becomes his own defense attorney in court when he pleads guilty to stealing a TV set and bases his defense on a "terrible explanation".

February 4, 1972:
Season 1, episode 4

With John Byner (Giuseppe). Much to Barbara's chagrin, Don buys a sports car from Tyler and treats it like a rare gem until a garage mechanic informs him the car had once been in a major accident.

February 11, 1972: The Moo Cow Child
Season 1, episode 5

With Edward Andrews (Crawford), M. Emmet Walsh (Kingston). Over Don's objections, his daughter is selected by one of his clients to star in a milk commercial to be directed by a young avant-garde filmmaker, with the Robinsons' kitchen as the location.

February 18, 1972: Strictly Neutral
Season 1, episode 6
The Robinsons decide to remain "strictly neutral" when they learn Tyler and his wife have separated, but their neutrality gets a severe test when she stops by to spend her first evening alone with them.

March 3, 1972: Where There's A Will
Season 1, episode 7

With Bob Newhart, Cliff Norton (Steve), Dick Yarmy (Carl). Don's brother-in-law attorney convinces him that he should prepare for his "departure" by making out his will.

March 10, 1972: The Candidate
Season 1, episode 8

With James Gregory (Clay Carraway), Parley Baer (Vanderpool). Don is assigned to handle the advertising for the political campaign of a former movie cowboy turned politician, a prospect that excites him until he learns the man has feet of clay.

March 17, 1972: The Dr. Rudolph Affair
Season 1, episode 9

With Dick Van Patten (David). Don's male ego takes a pounding when a doctor, a former boyfriend of Barbara's and the author of a modern sex manual, arrives for dinner.

March 24, 1972: Split Ticket
Season 1, episode 10
W: Elias Davis, David Pollock
Barbara and Tyler's wife Jean become candidates in the local school board election and agree to unseat the incumbent.

March 31, 1972: Watch On The Line
Season 1, episode 11
Don becomes the chaperone at a slumber party being given by his daughter, only to find that when it's over his expensive stop watch is missing.

April 14, 1972: I Want My Quarterback
Season 1, episode 12
Don turns in his resignation when he loses an account because the professional football star doing commercials for the agency would rather work with Tyler.

April 21, 1972: Audrey Come Home
Season 1, episode 13
When Audrey is promoted to a job in the legal department, Don gets a beautiful black girl as his secretary. He becomes concerned that he may be accused of prejudice when he considers firing her for incompetence. (Last show of the series.)
