May 13, 1976: The Quest
With Kurt Russell, Tim Matheson, Brian Keith. Pilot for a western series about brothers separated after an Indian raid -- one is a city boy training to be a doctor, and the other has been reared by Indians. A man who is a cattle thief, gunslinger and con man uses the brothers as shills for his dealings.

The season's only new western is introduced with a 90-minute episode in which two brothers, hoping to find their missing sister, instead find another young white woman whose plight becomes more than an Indian problem.

A hapless rancher gets unexpected help from the Baudine brothers when they muster a motley group of drovers for what seems to be a jinxed cattle drive through the badlands.

With Dan O'Herlihy (Matthew Hatcher), Keenan Wynn (Cooler), Woody Strode (Tucker), Erik Estrada (Santos), John Rubinstein (Wakely), Gary Lockwood (Walter Lucas). A determined but jinxed rancher pushes his cattle drive despite the death of a drover, the threat of Indian attack, mechanical breakdowns and lack of water.

December 22, 1976: Portrait Of A Gunfighter

With John Ireland (Jack Bell), Andrew Stevens (Minter), Frank Marth (Sheriff Coe), Bob Hastings (Ed Claiborne), Ivor Francis (Nielson), Morgan Brittany (Annabelle). Quentin Baudine teaches a young orphan boy to use a gun in self-defense, then comes to regret it when the youth turns into a cold-blooded gunman.

December 29, 1976: The Freight Train Rescue

With Alan Fudge (Ira Butler), Monte Markham (Nelson Story), Bruce M. Fischer (Dooley), Jack Hogan (Billy McGraff). The Beaudine brothers and a well-meaning freightman come to the aid of a party of surveyors who were set upon by a gang of border bandits, only to become pinned down by the same outlaws. (Last show of the series.)
