A three-run rally with two out in the eighth inning brought the Giants a 5-4 victory over the Astros. Doug Rader and Jim Beauchamp homered for the Astros. Hal Lanier singled and scored on a double by Steve Whitaker to open the Giants' comeback. Ron Hunt followed with a single to tie the score at 4-4 and Al Gallagher then doubled for his third hit of game to drive in the winning run. [The Sporting News]
