A double by Brooks Robinson was the decisive hit as the Orioles scored four runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Tigers, 5-3. Pinch-hitter Terry Crowley ignited the rally with a double. After a single by Don Buford, Marl Belanger struck out, but Frank Robinson beat out an infield hit, scoring Merv Rettenmund, who ran for Crowley. A walk to Boog Powell and an infield hit by Paul Blair added another tally before Brooks Robinson hit his double, driving in two runs, to provide the winning margin. [The Sporting News]
