A homer by Mike Epstein and two doubles by Frank Howard, who barely missed clearing the fence with both drives, helped the Senators to 6-5 victory over the Red Sox. Epstein hit his homer in the fourth inning after Howard doubled, breaking a 1-1 tie. Howard's second double accounted for two of the Senators' three runs in the fifth. Jerry Moses and Carl Yastrzemski homered for the Red Sox, who scored three runs in the ninth before their rally died. [The Sporting News]
