. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After giving up two runs in the first inning on a single by Cesar Tovar and homer by Tony Oliva, Catfish Hunter bore down the rest of the way and pitched the Athletics to a 5-2 victory over the Twins. The A's came back with three runs on two homers in the fourth. Bob Johnson led off with a round-tripper and, after Roberto Pena singled, Dave Duncan hit for the circuit. Other runs scored in the fifth on singles by Felipe Alou and Johnson, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly by Dick Green and single by Pena. [The Sporting News]
