. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Tom Seaver pitched the first complete game to the credit of the Mets' staff this season and Bud Harrelson hit the club's first homer of the year to mark a 6-0 victory over the Phillies.

Harrelson's clout off Grant Jackson in the first inning also was the first over-the-fence homer of the infielder's major league career. His only other round-tripper came on an inside-the-park drive August 17, 1967, in Pittsburgh. Harrelson added a triple and single to his hit collection in support of Seaver, who won his second game of the year and 12th straight in regular-season play since last August 9. [The Sporting News]
