. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Twins' acquisition of Brant Alyea in their deal with the Senators continued to pay slugging dividends when the outfielder drove in four runs with a homer and double to lead the way in a 6-3 victory over the Athletics. In seven games in which he had played so far, Alyea had 16 RBIs. Reggie Jackson homered with a man on base for the A's. Jim Perry, who started for the Twins, gained his third straight victory with the aid of Ron Perranoski, who took over in the eighth inning. [The Sporting News]
