Bill Mazeroski and Manny Sanguillen each batted in three runs to enable the Pirates to gain an 8-6 victory, although the Braves' attack included a grand-slam homer by Orlando Cepeda. The Braves also had a round-tripper by Hank Aaron, but with nobody on base. Sanguillen homered for the Pirates' first run in the fifth inning.
