Bill Mazeroski and Manny Sanguillen each batted in three runs to enable the Pirates to gain an 8-6 victory, although the Braves' attack included a grand-slam homer by Orlando Cepeda. The Braves also had a round-tripper by Hank Aaron, but with nobody on base. Sanguillen homered for the Pirates' first run in the fifth inning. Mazeroski got his three RBIs with a double in the seventh when the Pirates racked up five runs. Two walks, a passed ball and single by Sanguillen added the winning margin in the eighth.
