A wild throw by Ron Perranoski resulted in three unearned runs and gave the White Sox a 7-5 victory over the Twins, who were stopped on their four-game winning streak. Bobby Knoop homered for the White Sox in the eighth to tie the score at 4-4. Syd O'Brien singled and when Walt Williams bunted, both runners were safe on a fielder's choice. Luis Aparicio also bunted and Perranoski, trying for a forceout at third, threw wildly, O'Brien and Williams crossing the plate.
