With Jim Nash pitching a five-hitter, the Braves snapped their six-game losing streak by defeating the Pirates, 9-0. Rico Carty, hitting safely in his 15th straight game, started the Braves' scoring by driving in two runs with a bases-loaded single in the third inning. Tony Gonzalez homered in the fourth and also hit RBI singles in the eighth and ninth as the Braves scored three runs in each stanza. [The Sporting News]
