The Cubs extended their winning streak to eight games with a 6-3 victory over the Astros behind the five-hit pitching of Ken Holtzman. The lefthander helped himself with a two-run double in the sixth inning when the Cubs scored four times to take a 4-2 lead. The Cubs then clinched their victory when Ron Santo singled and Johnny Callison homered for his third hit of the game. [The Sporting News]
