With one out in the ninth inning, Tony Gonzalez singled and Clete Boyer followed with a homer to give the Braves a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals. Homers accounted for all the scoring in the game. Hank Aaron smashed a drive over the fence for the Braves in the first and Dick Allen produced the Cardinals' pair by hitting for the circuit after a single by Lou Brock in the sixth.
