Billy Williams batted in three runs with a homer and single to lead the Cubs' attack in a 10-5 victory over the Pirates. Willie Smith also homered and Ron Santo contributed a triple and double. The Cubs gained their winning margin with a five-run outburst in the seventh inning. Smith and J.C. Martin singled and Bill Hands and Don Kessinger walked to force in the first run.
