. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Jim McGlothlin not only pitched a six-hitter, but tripled with the bases loaded to seal the Reds' 7-2 victory over the Pirates. Al Oliver, who had a homer and single, drove in both of the Pirates' runs. The Reds broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning with a double by Bobby Tolan, an infield out and a sacrifice fly by Lee May. In the seventh, the Reds loaded the bases and scored one run on a wild pitch. Then, after an intentional pass to Bernie Carbo, McGlothlin lashed his triple. [The Sporting News]
