Posting the first complete-game victory of his N. L. career, Jim Bouton yielded only six hits and scored two runs as the Astros defeated the Cubs, 7-2. In the third inning, when the Astros broke a 1-1 tie, Bouton was hit by a pitch, Joe Morgan walked, Norm Miller singled and Jim Wynn lofted a sacrifice fly.
