Tom Seaver registered his 16th consecutive victory over two seasons and sixth in row this year when the Mets defeated the Dodgers, 5-4. Seaver gave up a homer by Ted Sizemore in the third inning and was tagged for another by Willie Crawford with two aboard in the ninth. When next two the Dodgers reached base, Ron Taylor relieved Seaver and retired the side. Tommie Agee scored three runs for the Mets, twice crossing the plate on wild pitches. [The Sporting News]
