Jim Spencer and Roger Repoz rapped homers to enable the Angels to defeat the Yankees, 4-3. Spencer also had two singles, giving him nine hits in his last 11 at-bats. Spencer's homer with a man on base in the third inning broke a 1-1 tie. Repoz produced what proved to be the winning run with his round-tripper in the seventh.
