. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Taking advantage of an error, the Astros scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning and defeated the Pirates, 7-5. Bob Robertson batted in four runs for the Pirates with a pair of homers. Doug Rader had a round-tripper for the Astros. In the sixth, after Tommy Davis singled with one out, Freddie Patek fumbled a grounder by Rader. Johnny Edwards flied out, but Jim Ray helped himself to victory, beating out an infield hit as Davis scored. Joe Morgan then tripled to drive in Rader and Ray. [The Sporting News]
