Winning their third consecutive game in extra innings, the Dodgers erupted for five runs in 14th and defeated the Phillies, 9-4. Willie Crawford walked to open the decisive stanza and, after a sacrifice, Ted Sizemore also drew a pass. Jeff Torborg singled to bat in the tie-breaking tally. Billy Grabarkewitz hit a sacrifice fly and Jim Lefebvre followed with a run-scoring single.
