The hitting of Denis Menke and Doug Rader provided the Astros' fuel in soaring past the Dodgers, 8-3. Menke homered with two men on base in the first inning. After the Dodgers came back to tie the score, Rader broke the deadlock with a circuit clout in the seventh.
