Building up a 9-0 lead, the Yankees were able to beat the Brewers, 9-5, in a game stopped by rain after two out in the last half of the ninth inning. Jerry Kenney, who had a triple and two singles, batted in two runs for the Yankees. Curt Blefary also accounted for two RBIs. Phil Roof and Max Alvis homered in the eighth when the Brewers started their comeback with four runs. Another scored in the ninth before rain halted play.
