Hank Aaron smashed a double and homer, increasing his career hit total to 2,997, and Rico Carty extended his batting streak to 31 games with a pair of singles as the Braves beat the Reds, 3-1. Jim Nash gave up the Reds' run in the fourth inning on a walk to Tony Perez and a double by Johnny Bench. Aaron's double and the first of Carty's singles tied the score in the sixth.
