Dan McGinn, who came out of the Expos' bullpen and beat Tom Seaver of the Mets, 3-0, on May 11, turned in his second straight route-going performance and defeated the Pirates, 2-1. The Expos scored both their runs in the sixth inning on a single by Adolfo Phillips, pass to Bob Bailey and singles by John Bateman and Ron Fairly. McGinn's bid for a shutout was spoiled in the seventh when Willie Stargell tripled and Manny Sanguillen hit a sacrifice fly.
