The Dodgers exploded for six runs in the first inning on six hits, including homers by Willie Crawford and Tom Haller, to defeat the Giants, 11-5. Maury Wills, who batted twice in the big stanza and hit two singles, scored the first run and drove in the sixth run of the stanza. Wes Parker added a two-run homer for the Giants in the fourth.
