Sending 11 men to bat, the Dodgers scored six runs in the fifth inning to clinch an 8-0 victory over the Giants behind the pitching of Claude Osteen. The Dodgers collected seven hits in their big inning, including two singles by Maury Wills, who also stole two bases. Ted Sizemore knocked in two runs with a bases-loaded single.

The victory was Osteen's first over the Giants since August 30, 1968, and the fifth of his career against 10 defeats in meetings with the 'Frisco crew. [The Sporting News]
