. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A run that scored on a passed ball gave the Pirates a 2-1 victory over the Phillies, who went down to their 10th straight defeat. In a duel between Bob Moose and Jim Bunning, the Phillies picked up their run in the sixth inning on a walk to Denny Doyle, single by Johnny Briggs and sacrifice fly by Don Money.

Richie Hebner singled for the Pirates in the seventh, advanced on a sacrifice by Bob Robertson and counted the tying run on a double by Manny Sanguillen. Sanguillen moved to third on an infield hit by Bill Mazeroski and scored when catcher Del Bates failed to handle the pitch by Bunning on which Moose struck out. [The Sporting News]
