Tearing a close game apart, the Braves scored five runs in the 11th inning, including three on a homer by Rico Carty, to defeat the Giants, 6-1. Triples by Sonny Jackson and Carty produced the Braves' initial run in the first inning and the Giants picked up the matching tally in the third on doubles by Ron Hunt and Willie McCovey.

Gil Garrido, a late inning replacement for Jackson, who suffered a spike wound, opened the 11th with a single and was forced by Felix Millan. After Hank Aaron walked, Carty smashed his homer. Two other runs followed on a single by Orlando Cepeda, a hit batsman, a single by Clete Boyer and passes to Bob Tillman and Hoyt Wilhelm. [The Sporting News]
