Steve Hovley singled in the ninth inning and raced home from first base on a double by Hank Allen to bring the Brewers an 8-7 victory over the Athletics. Don Mincher drove in three runs for the A's with a double and a homer. Tommy Harper hit a homer for the Brewers as the clubs fashioned a 5-5 tie. Russ Snyder sent the Brewers ahead with a two-run double in the seventh, but the A's pulled even in the eighth when Bert Campaneris singled, Rick Monday doubled and Felipe Alou singled.
