Matty Alou singled with two out in the 14th inning and scored on two successive wild pitches by Dick Selma to bring the Pirates a 3-2 victory over the Phillies. On the second wild pitch, Alou raced home from second base and slid under the throw from catcher Del Bates to Selma, who covered the plate. [The Sporting News]
