Two unearned runs on errors by Gene Michael and Stan Bahnsen in the second inning enabled the Senators to defeat the Yankees, 2-0. Mike Epstein and Bernie Allen walked in the second, with Epstein scoring when Michael muffed a grounder by Aurelio Rodriguez. Ed Brinkman followed with a bouncer to Bahnsen, who threw wildly to second base, attempting to start a double play, allowing Allen to score. Dick Bosman and Darold Knowles combined on a four-hitter for the Senators. The shutout was the third absorbed by the Yankees this season, with Bahnsen on the losing end of all three whitewashes.
