Ray Fosse hit a grand-slam for his first major league homer as the Indians exploded for eight runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Red Sox, 10-7. Fosse connected off Vicente Romo after three passes had loaded the bases. Ray Jarvis, replacing Romo, was greeted with a homer by Graig Nettles. A walk, double by Jack Heidemann, error and a double by Eddie Leon added three more runs.
