Clete Boyer belted two homers, each with Rico Carty on base, and George Stone pitched a three-hitter as the Braves defeated the Dodgers, 5-1. Manny Mota, who walked in the first inning and advanced on a wild pitch and infield out, stole home to score the Dodgers' run.

Carty was on base with a single when Boyer homered in the fourth and walked ahead of Boyer's second smash in the sixth. Gil Garrido, who had a perfect night with four hits, batted in the Braves' last run with a single in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
