Three unearned runs on three errors in the seventh inning enabled the Twins to defeat the Brewers, 6-5. Ted Kubiak muffed a grounder by George Mitterwald to start the stanza and with one out, Tommy Harper missed connections with a bouncer by Cesar Tovar. After Rod Carew popped up, Kubiak kicked a grounder by Tony Oliva, Mitterwald scoring. Harmon Killebrew walked to load the bases and two more runs then scored on a scratch hit by Rich Reese.
