Two homers by Tony Conigliaro, one by Carl Yastrzemski and a pair of run-scoring doubles by Jerry Moses provided the Red Sox with a 5-3 victory over the Senators. Yastrzemski, who had been hitless in 20 times at bat, broke a 3-3 tie with his circuit clout in the fifth inning. Conigliaro's second homer of the game clinched it in the eighth.
