Ossie Blanco, a first baseman-ontfielder from Tucson (Pacific Coast), batted in one run for the White Sox with a single for his first major league hit. Wood relieved Jerry Janeski after a walk and a single by Pat Kelly put runners on first and third with one out in the seventh inning. Paul Schaal singled to plate the Royals' run.
