A homer by Willie Horton with two men on base in the ninth inning powered the Tigers to a 3-0 victory over the Yankees in a four-hit duel between Earl Wilson and Mel Stottlemyre, who was the loser although pitching the distance for the first time this season. Horton, who had three of the Tigers' hits, smashed his homer after Gates Brown walked, Al Kaline sacrificed and the Yankees elected to hand an intentional pass to Norm Cash. [The Sporting News]
