. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Tony Taylor hit an inside-the-park homer with two men on base in the ninth inning to give the Phillies a 3-2 victory over the Expos. Del Bates singled to open the stanza and when Jim Hutto grounded to Coco Laboy, both runners were safe on the third baseman's wild throw, trying to start a double play. Byron Browne then hit a single that Rusty Staub trapped in right field. Hutto held up, thinking the catch had been made, and Browne passed him on the base paths and was called out. Taylor made up for the blunder with his drive, circling the bases when center fielder Adolfo Phillips crashed into the wall. [The Sporting News]
