Ed Kirkpatrick and Bob Oliver combined to bat the Royals to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox, who fell short in scoring on the one-man efforts of Tommy McCraw. Kirkpatrick drove in two runs with a pair of singles and Oliver accounted for two with a sacrifice fly and a homer. McCraw homered with a man on base in the third inning and scored the other White Sox run after bunting safely in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
