Before leaving the game with tightness in his throwing arm, Luis Tiant stowed away his sixth straight victory as the Twins pounded the Brewers, 11-2. Stan Williams pitched the last 1 2/3 innings. Tiant collected three of the Twins' 16 hits and drove in three runs. Cesar Tovar homered with two men on base as every starter in Twins' lineup got at least one hit.
