Jim Hickman hit his second two-run homer of the game in ninth inning to bring the Cubs an 8-7 victory over the Pirates. Hickman's first smash in the seventh tied the score at 6-6, but the Pirates went ahead with an unearned run in the eighth. Cleo James also homered for the Cubs, while Bob Robertson connected with a man on base for the Pirates. [The Sporting News]
